The Ministry of Energy of Vietnam has released the "National Power Development Plan (VII) from 2021 to 2030", which aims to improve the country's energy security. The Vietnamese government plans to allocate US$135 billion to deploy more power generating units and increase new grid capacity, including projects such as connecting the domestic grid to the grid of neighboring countries.
According to the plan, it is estimated that by 2030, Vietnam will become an energy exporting country, with an export power scale of about 5 to 10 GW. The Vietnamese government predicts that by 2050, the total amount of domestic renewable energy will account for more than 70% of the energy structure.
